Grant Funding
ARC funds basic, clinical and translational research across the full continuum of discovery.
We are committed to scientific rigor, transparency and long-term partnership with the research community.
-
Applications begin with a Letter of Intent (LOI). The first deadline is June 15, 2026 with rolling submissions accepted thereafter.
-
We invite proposals from investigators and organizations working to advance understanding and treatment of AUTS2 syndrome, including:
academic researchers
clinician-scientists
research institutes
biotech and early-stage companies
cross-institutional collaborations
Applicants from any country are eligible.
Projects should demonstrate clear relevance to AUTS2 syndrome and the potential to advance biological understanding, translational strategies or therapeutic development.
Industry applicants should include a plan for data sharing consistent with ARC’s mission.
Any research tools or resources generated (e.g., mouse models, iPSC lines, datasets) must be made broadly available to the research community on a non-exclusive, license-free basis to accelerate progress.
-
Seed Grants: Up to $50,000
Support pilot data generation, proof-of-concept studies and early development of license-free models or tools.Investigator Awards: Up to $100,000
Support projects that deepen biological insight, develop therapeutic strategies or move the field closer to clinical readiness.Awards are one year in duration and may include up to 10% indirect costs. Final award amounts will reflect project scope and available funding.
Funding is distributed based on the achievement of predefined project milestones, aligned with proposed timelines and key deliverables.
-
ARC uses a two-stage review process:
1. Letter of Intent (LOI)
Submit a brief overview of the project, including aims, relevance, budget range and investigator qualifications. The first LOI deadline is June 15, with proposals accepted on a rolling basis thereafter.
2. Full Proposal (by invitation)
Selected applicants will be invited to submit a detailed proposal, including scientific rationale, methods, timeline, budget and data-sharing plan.Proposals are reviewed by the ARC Scientific and Strategic Advisory Board, with input from external experts as needed.
Funding decisions are typically communicated within 8–12 weeks of full proposal submission.
Expectations of Awardees
ARC grantees are expected to:
provide periodic progress updates
share findings with the AUTS2 research community
acknowledge ARC funding in publications and presentations
acknowledge ARC support in all public communications of funded work, including scientific abstracts (where permitted), posters, oral presentations, press releases, media communications and internet-based content
submit an electronic copy of all resulting publications to ARC upon availability following publication
Awardees are expected to make research outputs openly accessible whenever possible. Reasonable publication fees or costs associated with open access dissemination may be included as part of the project budget.
Beyond individual projects, ARC funding aims to strengthen the overall AUTS2 research ecosystem by encouraging collaboration, open communication, and the development of shared scientific resources.
